As a multiple of average earnings Jersey currently pays its highest paid public servant 9.26x average earnings. This compares unfavourably with 5.2x in the UK (the second highest in Europe) and 2x in Norway.

This is a standard measure included in all national sets of accounts; whilst Jersey is not a nation it is calculated and presented in the States of Jersey Financial Reports.
All Civil Service remunerations would then need to be adjusted accordingly as many people are paid over £175,000 annually.
