Closed petition Same penalties in all parishes for drivers found guilty of breaking road laws

Everyday we see huge abuses of our road safety systems. Drivers using mobile phones, reading, driving the wrong way. Our beautiful island has witnessed the loss of a beloved boy due to texting whilst driving. Fines and/or penalties differ in each parish and this is a big part of the problem.

More details

I have spoken with sources and the feedback seems to be that because the fines and/or penalties are so different, prosecutions are not often processed. Our parishes should all be working WITH States of Jersey Police to enforce these laws.
Isn't it the same crime in every parish?
Pedestrians have a right to safe passage and if parishes work together across the island not just independantly, then we can start to have safer roads island wide.
