Closed petition Make it law for horse riders to wear a hi-vis tabard and hat band.
I see time and time again horse riders in either bright sunlight or dusky conditions without a single bit of high visibility on. This is not only dangerous to the horse and rider but to drivers and other road users.

Sadly we live on a small island where we are unable to ride off road in very many locations, therefore being active road users I feel it is our duty to the general public and to our animals to ensure we are seen at all times.
It takes 3 seconds quicker for a driver to see a rider in hi-vis and a helicopter up to half a mile further should you be thrown from your horse.
Think how badly a driver would feel should you be injured or killed because you were simply not visible.
