Currently employees in the UK are entitled to 5.6 weeks annual leave, the equivalent of 28 days for someone on 5 days a week. This may include the 8 public holidays.
In Jersey employees are entitled to just 2 weeks annual leave. Employers may not include public holidays, of which there are 9. This equates to 3.8 weeks in total, or 19 days for someone on 5 days a week.
Therefore, this petition requests that Jersey’s statutory minimum annual leave rises to 3.8 weeks, plus public holidays.
