Rejected petition Restrict certain supermarkets to allow only vulnerable people to shop there.
With panic buying so prevalent in Jersey at the moment it is becoming increasingly difficult for the elderly to access basic household goods. Certain stores should restrict access only to those most vulnerable to enable them to shop safely without putting themselves at risk of infection.
More details
There are 6 co-ops, 5 Morrison’s, 2 Iceland’s, 2 Checkers Xpresses, 2 M&S’s, 1 Waitrose and countless local convenience stores in the town area alone. Surely restricting just 2 or 3 of these to allow access to the elderly/vulnerable only is very doable and would provide a safe environment for them to buy essentials during these difficult times.
