Closed petition The introduction of family friendly legislation should not be delayed.

Every day that this legislation is delayed another family is disadvantaged by not having improvement in the workplace situation, depriving families of more choice and flexibility to help meet their work and family responsibilities. The encouragement of gender balance in childcare roles will be delayed and fathers will not be able to take a greater role in the responsibilities of a parent. The intent to put children first will be lost for a period of time that will not be recoverable for those children and families affected.
