Petition Review all public statues & monuments relating to former slave traders in Jersey
George de Carteret was a slave trader who made his wealth by dehumanising other human beings of a different race and selling them for profit. This petition calls for a review of all monuments which are currently on display to the public, to ensure they reflect modern day values.
George de Carteret sold slaves and should not be celebrated as part of our Island's history. Link to article
