Closed petition Make Black British History Compulsory in Schools
A call for British Black History to be made mandatory in schools in Jersey in order to bring awareness to the history and background that has led to the oppression and systemic racism of Black people in order that we grow into a community of actively anti-racist individuals.

People not being taught about racism lead to beliefs that the UK, & Jersey are exempt to racism when this isn't the case.
If we are taught different religions in our RE classes, we can be taught different African & Asian cultures in our history classes. By teaching our children young, it will bring awareness to the oppression, discrimination & lack of protection that these community face in their day to day life in the hopes of making this country a more understanding, knowledgeable & equal one.
