Rejected petition Allow only the sale and use of silent fireworks in the Island.

There has been an increase in the use of fireworks that create extremely loud bangs and whistles. During the November period this is now happening on a daily basis, sometimes in the early hours of the morning. These fireworks create and great deal of distress and disturbance to wildlife and pets

More details

The noise of some of these fireworks and the unsettling affect it has on animals can be felt for several miles. The distress and issues these fireworks cause on pets, livestock, and wildlife is totally unneccessary. We ask that legislation be created that bans the sale and use of fireworks that create noises. Recently noisy fireworks have been heard in the early hours of the morning causing disturbance to those trying to sleep and rest.
