Rejected petition Overturn the decision to closing gyms and indoor fitness centres
We've had ZERO transmissions in our gym since we reopened. And we've spent tens of thousands on equipment, cleaning and have developed a whole new layout for optimum safety since reopening to align with the forever changing guidelines.
But on the 4th of December we will be forced to close again.

I would completely understand your decision if there was some valid data to back it up, like you have for the transmission rate through hospitality venues...
But there's not.
No valid data whatsoever.
There's less chance of catching Covid in our gym than there would be in your local supermarket.
Our industry actually supports our local health care as we keep people mentally and physically, fit and healthy.
A gym isn't just a place someone goes to exercise. It's usually their safe place.
