Closed petition Increase Isolation Benefit for care home workers who have to self-isolate.
As an employee in a private care home my work is essential in looking after sectors of the vulnerable population. I have had to isolate as per Government guidelines, same as some of my colleagues, due to being a direct contact and have received Isolation Benefit.

However Isolation Benefit is not enough to cover life’s expenses e.g. rent, bills, food and, given that my employer is not providing any further support, I believe that additional benefit or funding or an increase in the Isolation Benefit should be provided by the Government for carers in my position as we are providing an essential service.
