Rejected petition Change rules to allow safe visiting to care/residential homes immediately
Visits to care homes were suspended on 8 December, with one exception made for Christmas. Some Islanders have not seen their relatives for months due to isolation rules and the number of nominated visitors that have been allowed to visit before this time.

These restrictions were no doubt well meaning, but they are not proportionate.
We believe they have had a profoundly negative effect on many residents and loved ones. In many cases this isolation has affected their mental, emotional, and physical health.
Most of these residents are elderly; every day they have is precious; their remaining time on this planet is being stolen from them due to these harsh regulations.
We ask Ministers to take urgent action to reintroduce safe visiting.
