Petition Ban single-use mini toiletries in the hospitality industry in Jersey
There are millions of tons of plastic in our ocean, which is damaging to wildlife and humans, particularly as microplastics find their way into the food chain.
The production of plastic also impacts on our carbon footprint which Jersey is trying to reduce.
Replacing mini toiletries with fixed refillable bottles will reduce waste - not just the plastic waste but also the waste from the toiletries which may only be used overnight then disposed of.
There are already ways to bulk buy liquid form toiletries in Jersey, in reusable (returnable) containers and this should be used by the hospitality industry.
As an island we should be doing all the can to protect our oceans.
