Petition Stop allowing States Assembly members with vested interests to vote
The way Standing Order 106 of the Standing Orders of the States of Jersey defines direct and indirect financial interests is not right.
The way the Standing Order is currently written has meant that States Members who are landlords have voted on matters where many people recognise they stand to benefit. This has happened in relation to P.106/2019 and for the votes on P.31/2021. The Standing Orders should be amended to prevent this from happening in the future.
