COVID-19 vaccine approved roll-out for children aged 16-17 years old is beginning in Jersey. We believe that this is unnecessary and possibly dangerous. The vaccine trials have not yet been fully carried out and has many unknown variables, including negative side effects.

The risk of hospitalisation or death from Covid-19 amongst healthy children is incredibly rare. All high risk categories of Covid-19 have been offered a vaccine.
According to government statistics, the take - up has been extremely successful - well over 95% in most categories. Most children will build up natural immunity and protect themselves and others.
We are not opposed to the vaccine, but more evidence is needed regarding the potential side effects of the vaccine for children before it is rolled out further.
