In the UK, it is the law for companies with over 250 employees to publish gender pay gap reports. However, this is not the case in Jersey. From available figures, Jersey has a significant gender pay gap. By publishing compulsory reports, companies can form action plans to tackle workplace pay gaps.

From the limited published reports, this is already evident. For example, the 2020 States of Jersey gender pay gap report, published by Scrutiny on 26th April 2021, shows that the difference in the average (median) pay between men and women in the workforce is 14.2%.
