Closed petition Independent Inspection of all Health Care Facilities, including community care.
Commission an immediate full inspection, by the Care Quality Commission, of the General Hospital, Overdale and Orchard House and all other services provided by HCS. This should include buildings, services, policies, governance, Jersey Care Model and all staff qualifications. Review staff suspension.

Inspection should extend to care in the community as Jersey has only had piecemeal inspection of limited areas by invited inspectors which is contrary to best practice. This also needs to extend to patient care after discharge and a realistic review of staffing levels and availability both in the hospital setting and the community. HCS should not be in control of the process of inspection if it is to be truly independent and should immediately work towards putting an inspection into practice.
