Closed petition Provide free school meals to all students whose parents receive Income Support
Given the current cost of living crisis, many families are now struggling to provide balanced nutritious meals for their children. It is important to extend the free school meals scheme to secondary students to ensure that no child in Jersey goes hungry as a result of poverty.

The United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child says in Article 24 that “Every child has the right to the best health care possible". Governments should provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food, and a clean environment and education on health and well-being so that children can stay healthy. I believe that this right applies to all children in Jersey no matter their age. By extending the scheme to secondary students equality amongst all of Jersey’s children would be shown.
