Rejected petition Change The Animal Welfare Law to give The States Vet powers to remove animals

Under The Animal Welfare Law (Jersey) 2004 it is a criminal offence to:
Cause cruelty and unnecessary suffering to animal however when this cases do occur there are no powers to remove animals.

Under the current Animal Welfare Act 2006 (UK) it includes the following:

Prevention of harm
Promotion of welfare
Licensing and registration
Enforcement powers
Codes of practice
Animals in distress
Prosecutions
Post conviction powers

Jersey need to follow suit and implement new laws and power for the protection of animals.
