This is a dangerous crossing where there is heavy traffic which is increasing year on year. The crossing is made more hazardous as sometimes the driver in one lane will stop whereas the driver in the next lane might not!

There is also a tendency for some drivers to speed up after the traffic lights at the Old Station Café to get to Bel Royal which exacerbates the problem.
Coronation Park now has a water park which is a wonderful added attraction for young families. However, with limited parking at the park, families are parking on the beach side and crossing Victoria Avenue at the crossing to the park. People need to be sure that the traffic will stop and that they will have the time to cross safely.
