Rejected petition Allow double pane windows for residential listed buildings.

Listed residential buildings have to keep single pane windows despite how inefficient they are. With energy prices soaring and a desire for us to be more energy efficient for the benefit of the environment I think it’s ridiculous that this is still enforced.

More details

Residential buildings, whether listed or not, should be comfortable to live in and single pane windows makes this much more difficult especially when the temperature outside is particularly cold.

It’s great that heritage is being protected but I think there should be changes to the rules when it comes to things like windows, roofing, etc as these things fundamentally impact the liveability and comfort afforded by a house to its residents.
