Petition Abandon plans to build a memorial to victims of abuse
The intention to create a memorial to the victims of abuse, whether it be a statue or a garden, should be abandoned as it is inappropriate and insensitive and should never have been agreed to.

The plan to create a memorial should be dropped as –
• it is opposed by many including survivors of abuse
• it is a waste of public money
• a memorial is a serious issue for victims with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• a memorial is not a good image instilled in visitors to our beautiful island.
