Petition Increase the number of childcare facilities for children aged zero upwards
Working families are being forced into impossible positions to care for their children due to a lack of available places. The States should explore options to increase the number of childcare facilities on the Island to support families wanting or needing to work.

New facilities are needed to take financial strain off families where a parent is having to quit or take unpaid leave from a job to care for their child. I have a 2-week-old baby and am being told by nurseries that they do not have space till January 2025 but I am due to go back to work in July 2024.
