Deputy Karen Wilson presented a proposal for the creation of a Health and Community Services Advisory Board on 15th June 2023, to operate for an initial period of 18 months, and which subsequently received agreement from the States Assembly. This decision was wrong.

The Health and Community Services Advisory Board is unnecessarily expensive, and seemingly ineffective and unproductive. The Chief Officer of Health and Community Services should be responsible for providing advice and guidance to the Minister for Health. That is why this specific role attracts a significantly generous salary package, compared to other senior level roles within the Government of Jersey.
