Petition Amend the Dogs (Jersey) Law 1961 to remove the need for an annual dog licence
Amend the Dogs (Jersey) Law 1961 to remove the requirement for an annual dog licence and fees.
Make it compulsory for an owner to microchip their dog should be added to the Law.
More details
Jersey should follow the UK and make microchipping of dogs compulsory, this would remove the need for an annual dog licence and yearly fee.
Microchips provide proof of ownership and are a reliable way to identify your dog if they get lost or stolen. Unlike collars or tags, which can break or become unreadable, microchips last for the lifetime of your dog and can greatly increase the chances of a lost pet being reunited with their owners quickly.
