Petition Replace the zebra crossing between Liberation Square and Conway Street
Zebra crossings can cause difficulties and potential for confusion for pedestrians in particular for those with visual impairments, disabilities, limited mobility and/or the elderly. Traffic light crossings are a better and safer option.
More details
The recent road traffic accident involving a pedestrian and a car in April 2024 on the zebra crossing in St. Helier between Liberation Square and Conway Street highlights the dangers of these crossings. This zebra crossing should be replaced by a traffic light crossing system without delay.
