Closed petition Increase and improve the training for A&E doctors about ectopic pregnancy

I recently suffered an ectopic pregnancy that I believe could have been detected earlier. I had been told that my bleeding was not a cause for concern, as there wasn’t much blood on my pad, and that I was not having a miscarriage. I was also told I would be referred to gynaecology.

However, 2 days later I was back in hospital and I required emergency surgery. I believe there needs to be more training on recognising the signs of ectopic pregnancies and, therefore, doctors should have more training about those signs. When a woman is bleeding during any stage of pregnancy they should be seen immediately by a specialist gynaecologist and not have to wait.
