Petition Prohibit pupils' phones & introduce guidelines on tablet tasks

Overuse of smart phones by children is causing widespread societal problems. The UK and other EU governments have already introduced policies in 2024 for their schools and Jersey needs to get up-to-date.

The misuse of iPhones and iPads can lead to the following problems, regardless of ownership;

- addiction
- lack of concentration
- frustration & aggression
- poor mental health
- physical symptoms (headaches, eye, shoulder and back pain)
- behavioural problems
- bullying
- communication problems
- inappropriate behaviour
- lack of privacy and body image anxiety
- learning difficulties
- self harm
- depression
- distraction

Let’s reduce these effects by asking schools to lead on safeguarding.
