Petition Install PFAS-removal water and air filters in schools and public buildings
Independent European research has found PFAS in school environments. Some private schools have already installed PFAS filtration. All children deserve equal protection, whoever they are and wherever they are, especially where they drink water.
More details
Recent European studies on waste incinerators show children are exposed to PFAS through air, not just water. Jersey Water does not routinely test water at school taps. In 2022, the Chief Minister confirmed Ports of Jersey should fund water protection where PFAS pollution arose. This petition calls for point-of-use PFAS filtration, regular monitoring, published results, and proper maintenance, with costs met by Ports of Jersey where possible or by the States.
