Petition A Dog Park for St Helier (Millennium Park)
As the population density has increased within 1 km of the park due to new apartment blocks being built, combined with a steep rise in dog ownership in St Helier (up 46% in 2025 compared to 2021)* a need clearly exists for a dog park providing a better use of space and better value for taxpayers.
More details
Propose conversion of (little-used) Boules court in Millennium Park to provide taxpayers with a dog park.
With no options in town for open spaces for dogs, many drive. With a dog park in town the environmental benefits of reduced emissions and traffic will benefit everyone.
A dog park fosters social interactions for humans and dogs, and will contribute to improved animal welfare, and happiness. It will go some way to addressing the needs of a tightly packed community.
