Petition Acquire & turn the former St. Christopher's School into a dedicated SEND school
The Minister for Education should either acquire or lease the former St. Christopher's School in St. Clement and turn it into the island's first dedicated SEND school, thus providing specific support for children with needs arising from cognitive, language, interaction, and sensory impairments.

La Passerelle cannot fill this gap: it is SEMH provision, not a specialist Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) school. Mont a l’Abbé alone cannot accommodate increasing SEND demands. Children are legally entitled to full-time education appropriate to their age, ability and aptitude, and any SEN they may have. The Minister must forecast need, plan sufficient places and secure suitable education. This is a unique opportunity to provide SEND education in a building already configured to be a school.
