Petition Install a plaque in the Royal Square recognising Brigadier Snow

Brigadier Snow played a central role in the Liberation of Jersey. He made the formal Proclamation of Liberation in the Royal Square and later served as Military Governor. With the authority of the Crown, he oversaw the restoration of civil government and freedom following the German occupation.

More details

The Royal Square was the location of the formal Proclamation of Liberation, one of the most significant moments in Jersey's modern history. Despite the importance of Brigadier Snow's role in this event, there is currently no plaque or information board in the Royal Square explaining his contribution. This petition seeks appropriate public recognition of his role in the Liberation and the restoration of constitutional government in Jersey.
