Rejected petition Review laws surrounding employees with disabilities to provide more protection.
People with disabilities are being forced into either early retirement/ debt due to discrimination by employers resulting in them being let go, constructive dismissal, employers not being legally required to make adjustments only considered.
I am one of these people. I then 9/10 have to go to JACs.
More details
Employers only need to CONSIDER reasonable adjustments and NOT make them.
Disabilities are not controlled or chosen yet I have found that the time I have required off with my disabilities will be similar to someone who has chosen to have children, and they remain safe in their role where as I will be let go. There is no consistency with the laws around disability.
I want to work, however as soon as I mention disability or hybrid working I am not a viable candidate over a healthy individual.
